Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have long been rumored to be in a feud with Prince William and Kate Middleton. Although Kate and Meghan’s recent public outings showed the two duchesses on friendly terms, royal followers believe that this is not the case behind the scenes. Here are the times Prince Harry and Meghan are believed to have made subtle digs at Kate.

British Vogue Magazine

It’s no secret that Meghan Markle was the guest editor of the September issue of British Vogue. By tradition, the royal woman who guest edits the magazine graces the front cover of the issue in question. When she was still alive, Princess Diana had the honor of being on the front cover of the magazine. Kate also became the face of Vogue in 2016.

While everyone expected Meghan to grace the front cover of the September issue, just like Princess Diana and Kate, the Duchess of Sussex declined the magazine’s offer and told the magazine that it would be “boastful” to have herself on the cover. As the editor of that particular issue, she decided to feature 15 trailblazing women on the front cover instead.

Meghan may have had the best intentions for turning down the magazine’s offer, but some interpreted it as a subtle dig at Kate, who agreed to be on the front cover in 2016. Many also questioned why Meghan didn’t even include Kate in her list of 15 trailblazing women.

Instagram Following

Back in June, Prince Harry and Meghan unfollowed everyone on Instagram except the accounts of the charitable causes they were championing. Their purpose for unfollowing everyone was to let their followers know their advocacies as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

After a few days, Prince Harry and Meghan re-followed all they previously unfollowed accounts. Interestingly, Prince William and Kate’s Instagram wasn’t among them. Apparently, they have decided to permanently unfollow the Instagram page of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. For royal followers, it’s a clear indication of the rumored royal rift.

Two-Children Limit

When Prince Harry interviewed primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall recently, the Duke of Sussex revealed that he and Meghan were planning to have just two royal babies. According to Prince Harry, they wanted to limit their children to two for the sake of the environment, saying that the risk to the environment becomes greater as the population gets higher.

Since Prince William and Kate have three children and are reportedly planning to have a fourth baby soon, many took Prince Harry’s declaration as a subtle dig at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s latest ‘woke’ outburst, in which he declared that he and Meghan plan to have only two children ‘maximum’ in a bid to save the planet, may well have irked the Cambridges,” said royal commentator Robert Jobson.
