Musk and Trump

Tim Walz called out Elon Musk during a campaign rally in Madison, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, referring to the tech billionaire as Donald Trump's real "running mate."

"I'm going to talk about his running mate. His running mate, Elon Musk," the Democratic nominee for vice president said to loud cheers from supporters.

Walz went on to mock the X.com owner's much-memed on-stage hopping at a Trump campaign stop in Butler, Pennsylvania.

"Look, Elon's on that stage, jumping around, skipping like a dips--t," the Minnesota governor said.

"That guy is literally the richest man in the world. Spending millions of dollars to help Donald Trump buy an election," Walz added, referencing Musk's questionably legal offer of cash in exchange for voter registrations in key swing states.

The V.P. nominee has made a name for himself as Kamala Harris's straight-shooting running mate, most recently telling a crowd in Pennsylvania that seeing Trump hand a local mom some money for groceries reminded him of the former president paying women for their silence.

"He walks into this grocery store and he hands a $100 bill to a lady to pay for her groceries, did you see this? So I'm thinking, 'I wonder what he's going there?' Then I got to thinking, I think it's just natural -- any woman he sees he pays off 'cause he did something," Walz told his rural supporters.
