A TikTok star is pleading with her more than 7 million followers to help find the killer of her teen son, who was shot dead Friday, June 24, the day before he was set to turn 19.
The teen, Randon Lee, was shot and killed at a gas station in Saint Stephens Road, Prichard, Alabama, at around 7:45 p.m., local time on Friday, according to local outlet WKRN.
Lee is the son of popular TikTok user @shoelover99, who is known as Mama Tot. Her real name is Ophelia Nichols.
"The word is getting out and I need to let everybody know. I am doing this video for a reason. I ain’t never asked y’all for anything, but I need your help with this. There’s almost seven million people that follow me, somebody’s gotta know something," Nichols said with teary eyes.
"Today would have been my baby child’s 19th birthday, but he was took from me last night. Took from my children and my husband and our family," the mother said in a video Saturday.
"My son was murdered. He was shot and I have this hatred in my heart that I don't recognize, because I’ve never felt hate for anybody," she continued.
"This individual took my son’s life and I know they’re out there in my town. They’re out there living and breathing and my son’s dead. He was just 18 years old. That's the best part of somebody's life, and I know they're out there in my town. They're out there," she said.
"I want you to look at my son. This is my son. And you took him from me."
"Somebody know who did this to my child and I am asking for somebody’s help. Anybody’s help," Nichols said before the video ends.
No arrests have been reported yet, but Nichols said authorities have lead on two individuals.
"Just been told We have a lead on two individuals. I hope they see this video & know what they have done to my family," she updated in the comments section.
In text embedded in the video, she wrote, "I will not stop until my sons murderer is found and prosecuted."
This is an ongoing investigation. The motive behind the killing remains unclear.
