Three Elderly Siblings Discovered Dead In Their Remote Home After Bout With COVID-19

Three elderly siblings who were discovered dead at a remote Pennsylvania home some two months ago in October have been confirmed to have died from COVID-19.

Two brothers, 70-year-old Richard Kinsey and 72-year-old Donald Kinsey, and their sister, 68-year-old Ruth Kinsey, were found dead on a Baker Street home near Johnstown on Oct. 25. The case had surprised the authorities as the siblings showed no signs of trauma on their bodies after they were discovered dead.

However, based on autopsies, toxicology tests, and microbiology examinations, the coroner confirmed that the trio died due to COVID-19, New York Post reported.

“They were positive for COVID-19, the lungs were heavy and congested,” Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said.

“They were people that were sick,” the coroner added.

Officers looked into the possibility of a deadly gas attack behind the deaths earlier on in the investigation and pursued several leads including subjecting the home to carbon monoxide tests.

The officers found Ruth's body in the kitchen and Richard's body seated in a chair in the living room. Meanwhile, Donald's body was found in bed in a camper parked in the barn next door.

In a similar but unrelated incident, an unvaccinated couple died weeks apart due to COVID-19 and left behind five children including a newborn in California, Latin Times reported.

Davy Macias, 37, reportedly died due to COVID-19 on Aug. 26. She delivered her fifth child on the day of her passing via a Cesarean section. However, she died before meeting her newborn baby.

Two weeks later, her husband Daniel Macias, 38, also succumbed to COVID-19 on Sept. 9. He was being treated in the same hospital when medical staff told him about the birth of his daughter.

"It wasn't that they didn't want to be vaccinated. They planned on it," Terry Macias, the children's grandmother, who is now taking care of the five kids, said.

Davy reportedly worked as a nurse while Daniel was an educator in the Rialto Unified School District. Daniel helped in identifying students who wanted to go to college and was also chairperson of the math department at Jehue Middle School.

The late couple reportedly went on a beach vacation toward the end of July, during which they are believed to have caught the virus. Their trip reportedly concluded at an indoor water park in Orange County.
