Thomas Markle Sr. recently became embroiled in another significant scandal. Jeff Rayner, the proprietor of a paparazzi company, filed a restraining order against Meghan Markle's father after the latter allegedly made death threats against him.
The proprietor of the paparazzi business is sure that Thomas can follow through on his threat because of certain statements he made.
Meghan Markle's father has been in the news over the past few years, but for all the wrong reasons.
Thomas fabricated several photos before his daughter's royal wedding after paparazzi business owner Jeff Rayner promised to pay him $100,000. The two men's initial pact, meanwhile, never came to pass.
Tom Bower's most recent book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors, contains quotations from Thomas's threats. The court document Rayner submitted was also made available online.
"Thomas W. Markle is quoted on approximately page 220 of the book: 'I got screwed by Rayner,' said Markle, and I'm going to find a way to screw him over before I die. I want to tear him down. If they tell me I've got terminal cancer, then I'll kill him because I have nothing to lose. [He] Threatened in writing to kill me since he is 78 years old, I anticipate he will use a gun or other weapon," Rayner wrote (via Yahoo! News).
In addition, Rayner asserted that she had experienced worry and panic due to Thomas's threats.
“Markle has made public threats against Jeff Rayner in various interviews previously threatening and harassing him. If he is diagnosed with any terminal illness, which can happen any day, he will kill Jeff Rayner because he has ‘nothing to lose,’” the filing stated.
Years ago, after the Daily Mail revealed the patriarch's staged images, Thomas and his daughter, the Duchess of Sussex, fell out. He took pictures of Thomas getting his suit tailored, reading about the royal family at a computer store, and other things.
But once the pictures were public, Markle's father reportedly believed they were awkward and hammy. Additionally, he regrets his involvement with Rayner. The harm, nevertheless, has already been done.
The royal wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry went on after the uproar, but Thomas failed attend. Before his daughter's wedding, the former lighting director had two strokes, preventing him from going to the U.K.
Markle soon after sent her father a handwritten note. A copy of the letter was once more leaked to the tabloids. The Duchess of Sussex allegedly stopped communicating with Thomas over fears that her other messages would also be revealed to the media.
