Thalía On Broadway? Mexican Singer Hints Theatre Collaboration With Robert De Niro

Is Thalía heading to Broadway? Recent statements made by the Mexican singer suggest she could be!

According to Radio Fórmula, the “Desde Esa Noche” performer mentioned she is currently working on a new theater project alongside husband Tommy Mottola and Hollywood actor Robert De Niro.

“We are about to premiere a new show, my husband and I, it will be out by the end of the year,” the 44-year-old designer said. “With [Robert] De Niro and everything, so we are very motivated. We are also doing pre-production for the Donna Summer musical.”

Mr. and Mrs. Mottola have been spotted walking the red carpet at the Tony Awards in the past couple of years. Could this have anything to do with their new business adventure?

Playbill reported that Mariah Carey’s ex-husband recently joined forces with Mr. De Niro in the production of “A Bronx Tale,” an off-Broadway musical reportedly heading to Broadway this year.

“A Bronx Tale” had its premiere at New Jersey’s Paper Mill Playhouse in February. The show tells the story of an Italian-American teenager trying to find his path in life as he chooses between the father who raised him and a mob-boss father figure who fascinates him.

The cast was led by Jason Gotay as Calogero, Joshua Colley as Young Calogero, Nick Cordero as Sonny, Richard H. Blake as Lorenzo, Coco Jones as Jane and Lucia Giannetta as Rosina.

The audition notice states an offer has been made to an actress to play the role of Rosina on Broadway but until the name is revealed, we cannot confirm if Thalía will be starring in the production.

In the meantime, the songstress is getting ready to kick-off her “Latina Love Tour” to promote her latest studio album, “Latina.”

“La cultura Latina en este momento is powerful,” Mexico’s favorite “María” said about naming her album. “It’s like everybody wants to understand it. Everybody wants to hear us, hear what we have to say, need our votes, need our music to feel happy and to feel good and free. It’s like a big Latino movement right now in the world. It’s like that need to know more about us. We recorded the tracks in Mexico, Los Angeles, Miami, Colombia, Puerto Rico, and New York, in so many places.”
