A woman in Texas who is facing murder and kidnapping charges in the death of a pregnant woman in October 2020, was indicted last week on a second capital murder charge. Taylor Parker, 28, was previously charged for killing a pregnant woman and whose child Parker had forcibly removed from her womb is now also charged for the death of the baby.

According to a report on Texarkana Gazette, after her indictment in the kidnapping and death of 21-year-old Reagan Hancock, the case of the dead infant was not brought to a grand jury earlier due to the absence of the final report from the coroner on Hancock’s death.

It was on the morning of October 9 when police received a 911 call after Hancock’s dead body was found by her mother in the living room of their shared home in New Boston, where Hancock’s mother, her husband and their 3-year-old daughter lived together.

Parker was pulled over by a Texas state trooper in DeKalb, Texas, not far from the Oklahoma border where she allegedly tried to look like she was performing CPR on the infant on her lap with the umbilical cord coming from her pants.

An ambulance transported Parker and the baby to McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma, where the baby was pronounced dead. Doctors, however, said Parker had not given birth.

Hancock, who was 34 weeks along in her pregnancy was lying face down on the floor when the paramedics arrived at the scene. Upon turning over Hancock’s body, they saw a large cut across her abdomen which made paramedics conclude that the baby had been cut out and removed from her womb.

Police discovered a large amount of blood throughout the house spattered on the floor, the walls, furniture and appliances.

A small scalpel was found lodged in Hancock's neck during an autopsy by a Dallas medical examiner which at the time of the incident had not been visible to investigators at the crime scene.

At her arraignment Friday, Parker entered a plea of not guilty.

She and Reagan Hancock were friends and Parker allegedly convinced her boyfriend she was pregnant and often made social media posts supporting her claim. Her boyfriend told police they even held a gender reveal party in advance of the fictitious Oct. 9 due date to celebrate the arrival of a baby that never even existed.

The boyfriend said he expected to meet Parker at a hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma, at noon Oct. 9 for a planned, induced labor and delivery.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty and the jury will have three options when deciding if she is guilty of capital murder namely death by lethal injection, life without parole, or acquittal.

If found guilty of kidnapping, Parker faces two to 20 years. If convicted of murder in the baby's death, Parker faces five to 99 years or life in a Texas prison. She is being held without bail at Bowie County Jail and her hearing is scheduled for April, People.com wrote.
