Tennis Hall of Famer Pam Shriver Says 'Most' of Her Grand Slam Trophies Stolen After Wildfire Evacuation: 'Really Sad on So Many Levels'

While staying at the Marina del Rey DoubleTree after evacuating the California wildfires, Tennis Hall of Famer Pam Shriver's car was stolen along with "most" of her 21 Grand slam trophies.

Shriver revealed the incident in an X post on Thursday.

"My son & I are at a police station reporting our car was stolen from the hotel parking lot we evacuated to when fires started. This was the car that had most of my major trophies being stored until we could safely move back home," she wrote.

Shriver's family was one of the tens of thousands of people who were forced to evacuate their homes amid the ongoing wildfires, which started on Jan. 7 and have yet to be contained as of Jan. 17.

"Now, my family's a victim of a crime, too," Shriver told ESPN. "It's really sad on so many levels that, when people are at their lowest and in their most difficult times, people are doing things like this."

The 62-year-old tennis legend, who now spends her time as a commentator for ESPN and the Tennis Channel while also coaching Donna Vekić, told ESPN all five of her US Open trophies, all five of her French Open trophies and one Australian Open trophy were taken.

Fortunately, the former tennis star's Brentwood home was not destroyed by the fire, and she and her family are staying at a new hotel until heating and power is restored.
