"La Voz Kids" is getting a new set of coahces: Mexico's Roberto Tapia and Spain's Natalia Jiménez will be joined by US bachata singer Prince Royce this season on the Telemundo reality TV competition to replace Paulina Rubio. "La Voz Kids" is the Spanish-language version of "The Voice" and features contestants aged between seven and 15 years-old. The show's second season will be hosted by Cuban pair Jorge Bernal and Daisy Fuentes who will lead the youngsters through the competition.
Prince Royce, 24, has just had his first album certified Triple Platinum in the United States and Puerto Rico. He recently performed on New Year's Eve with fellow Latino Pitbull at a special concert in Miami. He has also recorded with some of the biggest names in Latino music, including Maná, Daddy Yankee, Selena Gómez and Thalia. His isngles "Darte Un Beso" and "Te Me Vas" reached number one on Billboard's Latin Songs Artists and Latin Pop Airplay Artists.
"La Voz Kids" launched in 2013 on the Spanish-language network Telemundo after the Dutch show "The Voice Kids" was licensed around the world. Prizes include a $50,000 cash award for their education and a recording contract with Universal Music Group. The show debuted on May 5, 2013 and is hosted by Jorge Bernal. The first season lasted 13 episodes with the season finale airing on July 28, 2013. Season 2 is scheduled to air in early May and run in a similar time frame.
