The "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" release date is Aug. 8, 2014, and while that may seem far away, the latest "TMNT" trailer has already revealed a great deal of plot details. What's more, the new trailer finally reveals a good look at the new Shredder.
"Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians," described Paramount Pictures. "The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O'Neil and her cameraman Vernon Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder's diabolical plan."
In the latest "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle" trailer, New York City is overrun by the foot clan, but techie turtle Donatello has been monitoring surveillance cameras around the city to stay a step ahead of the bad guys. Upon discovering that the foot clan is shooting up a subway station and taking hostages, the turtles suit up and arrive to the train station to set things right. After knocking out the lights, the ninja turtles totally own the foot clan and even throws one of the thugs through a train window. Meanwhile, reporter April O'Neil, played by Megan Fox, whips out her camera phone to record the entire ordeal.
Later, O'Neil encounters the turtles fighting the foot clan again and chases after the turtles up a roof top to get a better look at the heroic vigilantes. While the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles exchanges high fives and celebrate another win against the gang, April O'Neil blows her cover when her camera phone let's out a flash that alerts the turtles. This is the first encounter between April and the turtles as Raphael and Leo warn April to keep their identities a secret from the public.
However, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have bigger things to worry about as Master Splinter warns them of the evil Shredder, who wears a mecha-armor samurai suit that makes him look like a human-sized Transformer robot. Based on the trailer, the turtles are not fully prepared to face Shredder and his minions as a battle with the Shredder has left Master Splinter close to death while Don and Leo are kidnapped. It's up to Raph and Mikey to stop Shredder and save their brothers.
