A Missouri man was arrested after allegedly shooting his 19-year-old son during an argument, leaving the young man hospitalized with serious injuries.

Wayne Beck, 59, faces charges of domestic assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon following the Nov. 15 incident, Ozarks First reported.

Deputies responded to a report from Texas County Memorial Hospital around 11:45 p.m., where the victim claimed his father shot him, according to the Texas County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies visited Beck's residence in the Dunn area, where he admitted to striking his son with a gun and firing a shot in his direction. Beck reportedly told authorities he did not intend to hit his son but aimed to scare him. Instead, the bullet pierced the victim's arm and entered his torso.

A witness at the scene transported the injured victim to the hospital. He was later transferred to another medical facility due to the severity of his injuries.

Beck was taken into custody and transported to the Texas County Jail, where he remains on a $25,000 bond. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
