A teenage TikTok star in Mumbai has been accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl and allegedly threatened to release inappropriate video clips of them engaged in intimate moments. The 17-year-old girl is also said to be quite popular on TikTok and used to make videos with the 16-year-old accused on the video sharing application.
Reports from last week revealed the teenage boy had asked the girl over to his house on the pretext of returning gifts the girl had given him. Upon her arrival, the accused allegedly forced himself on her and sexually assaulted her. He then attacked and beat the girl using a stick with the help of his two friends.
The girl returned home and told her mother of her brutal attack and revealed to her what she had been going through. The following day, the teen girl and her brother went to the police and filed a complaint against her teen boyfriend and his friends.
According to the Hindustan Times, both teenagers reportedly became friends in 2020 and entered into a relationship. However, arguments started to plague the relationship, which led the girl wanting to call it quits with her boyfriend.
The accused boyfriend also allegedly recorded several risque encounters between them without the girl’s knowledge. The teenage boy threatened to post the video clips on social media when the girl relayed her intentions to break up.
Police officers said they are yet to make arrests on the case as the three accused males have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act 2012. Due to the ages of the accused and the complainant, their identities have been withheld from the public.
In a separate case, Amutha Priya, a former TikTok star and her boyfriend have been arrested for harassment and abuse of Priya’s 33-year-old daughter on social media. Ambattur Estate Police reports said the TikTok star allegedly abandoned her husband two years ago and moved in with her current 52-year-old boyfriend. Priya’s daughter, who is living separately from her husband for some time, had been staying with her mother and her boyfriend, identified as K Rajesh.
Several complaints have been lodged by Priya's daughter with the police, which indicate that Rajesh started making sexual advances at her despite several warnings. He was cited telling the daughter that he now requires a younger woman’s company to please him since her mother has now aged. Both Rajesh and Priya were previously given stern warnings, and they were let off with an apology to the daughter.
Despite the warnings, Rajesh continued to ask the daughter to live with him. On top of this, Priya also began posting abusive comments on social media accompanied with morphed images of her daughter. A case has now been filed by the Ambattur Estate police under five sections of IPC while Priya and Rajesh have been detained pending further investigation.
