Joshua Cooper, a 16-year-old boy living in a trailer park in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, was arrested after they got a call from a mother who said that her daughter was asked by Cooper on Instagram tips and suggestions on how he can hide a dead body, according to NBC News.
The video reportedly showed Cooper, covered in blood, asking the acquaintance for help in disposing of a dead body, before flipping the camera and showing the bloodied legs of what is believed to be the unnamed victim in the floor, the New York Post reported.
Entering the Cooper trailer, they found the dead body of a young girl who appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Efforts were also seen in the bathroom where the young girl’s body was found to clean up the mess that was made. Some neighbors claimed that they had heard a gunshot, though police have yet to confirm this testimony.
Once the police came into the scene, Cooper reportedly booked it out of the trailer in an attempt to run away from the crime scene. Cooper ended up being captured a short time later and he was taken into custody for his actions.
Cooper and his father had reportedly moved into Top of the Ridge Trailer Park about six months ago, and their next-door neighbor Petree claimed that the boy “seemed troubled” when he was able to talk to him.
Many of his neighbors expressed shock and surprise at the actions of Cooper, with some saying that this was the first crime scene they had seen in real life since living in the area.
The teenage boy will be facing charges such as criminal homicide, possessing instruments of crime, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. He will be tried as an adult, and is currently staying in a juvenile detention facility with no bail.
