An Arkansas teacher's act of kindness turned into a financial headache after a student he tried to help used his credit card to spend over $1,000 on PlayStation games, according to police.
On November 13, Stuart Simpson, an e-sports teacher, offered to help a student who didn't have access to a PlayStation Game Pass subscription by purchasing a three-month membership with his own credit card.
After making the transaction, Simpson tried to delete his card information, but he later found $1,056 in additional PlayStation purchases on his credit card bill, KAIT8 reported.
Simpson contacted his credit card company directly, which reversed the charges, and subsequently reported the incident to local authorities.
On November 14, the case was referred to the juvenile department in Jonesboro, Arkansas, with police also investigating transaction records.
As of now, it remains unclear whether the student will face disciplinary action or legal consequences.
