Taylor Ward has confirmed she is expecting her first child with Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez, through an Instagram post on Sunday.
"Real Housewives of Cheshire" star Dawn Ward's 23-year old daughter shared a picture on Sunday, together with Mahrez, while on a luxury getaway in the Maldives, holding a string of baby scan pictures. The two dressed in white, Ward's stunning in a white one-piece swimming costume, while the 30-year-old husband Riyad displayed his hand on her baby bump. Ward wrote, "Where life begins and love never ends.."
The news comes after The Sun revealed that the couple had secretly married under Islamic law. The outlet also exclusively revealed that after 16 months of dating, the pair got engaged in June last year during a vacation on the Greek island of Mykonos alongside her parents. The Manchester City winger proposed after lunch with a £400,000 ($540,000) ring he had custom-made himself.
With over 1.7 million followers on Instagram, the model has been flooded by congratulatory comments from their friends. Love Island's Molly-Mae Hague wrote, "Ahhh congratulations!!!', while Ferne McCann added, "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh congratulations darling. What lovely news." Other celebrities and fans also congratulated the pair on their news, including fellow pregnant star Olivia Bowden.
Ward and Mahrez reportedly live together after having moved into a new £2 million ($2.7 million) mansion in Cheshire last year. Mahrez has two daughters from his previous marriage to Rita Johal and will now welcome his third child later this year with Ward.
Mahrez appears to have a lot of reasons to celebrate as he scored twice and picked up an assist in Manchester City's 4-1 win over Fulham in the FA Cup.
He worked on Ilkay Gundogan's early equalizer and goal twice in the second half, including a penalty. Mahrez, with 15 goals in 26 appearances this season, is the City's top scorer.
Pep Guardiola praised the star player. "As a player he has a special quality. In the last year we struggled with penalties and now he is a guarantee. He scores every penalty he takes and especially under pressure. You take a penalty at 4-0 and it is easy but last season in [Borussia] Dortmund he scored when we were 1-0 down and this season 1-0 down against Arsenal he scored. He has the personality to take the ball and do it," he added.
