Is there a Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande feud going on behind the scene? That seems to be the case, according to a recent report that even suggested that the cause of the fight is a little bit of jealousy.
The alleged feud between the two highly successful singers came from an article published by the Life & Style magazine, according to Gossip Cop. The article, which is titled “Ariana Vs. Taylor: Secret Catfight,” said that Swift is a little jealous of Grande’s successes and has been secretly brewing a plot to come out on top once more.
“Taylor has been watching Ariana’s massive success over the past year, and she can’t help but feel jealous,” Life & Style quoted an unnamed source. “Now she’s plotting to get back on top.” The magazine also added that one of the reasons that Taylor Swift made a new song “ME!” is to outshine Ariana Grande.
According to the magazine’s rather suspicious source, another reason for Swift’s focus on Grande instead of other artists is that she considers the latter her competition because they share the same fanbase.
“Ariana’s really connecting on social media, which irks Taylor because she feels like that’s her thing,” the source added. “They share many of the same fans, so Taylor considers her direct competition.”
While the story is indeed very dramatic, it is entirely untrue, according to Gossip Cop. The fact-checking site looked into the story and even got in touch with those close to Swift, who confirmed that there is neither feud nor any sort of jealousy or animosity between her and Grande.
Regarding Swift’s release of her new single “ME!” it was not the singer’s intention to upstage anyone, more so Ariana Grande. She released the song because that’s what music artists do — create songs and release them so that music lovers can enjoy their creative efforts.
While it may not have been Swift’s intention to smash Grande’s record, “Me!” is actually a huge hit when it was released last week. It earned 65.2 million views on YouTube within 24 hours of its release, which even toppled Grande’s “Thank U, Next,” which earned 55.4 million views within 24 hours.
