Have no fear, Tara Reid may not actually be shark bait! Following reports that "Sharknado" star Tara Reid would not be returning for the Syfy sequel due to casting cuts, fans were devastated.
TMZ reported that the "Sharknado" producers who are now working on the thrilling sequel had cut Tara Reid's role of April Wexler. April Wexler is the estranged wife of Fin Shepard, who survived the shark attack even when they broke into her house! Fin Shepard is played by "90210" star, Ian Ziering.
According to sources, both Reid and Ziering made about $50,000 for their role in the first movie, however now that Ziering is guaranteed to reprise his role as Fin Shepard in "Sharknado 2" he is set to make even more! But Reid took to Twitter in an effort to squash rumors that's she had been removed from Syfy's upcoming "Sharknado" film that is rumored to be set in New York City.
"There is no script for Sharknado 2 until I read it then I will make a decision but everyone that is saying I got cut that is not true #liars," Reid posted on Sunday, July 28.
The actress isn't the only one denying rumors of her casting cut. The studio behind "Sharknado," Asylum, also tweeted out in defense of Reid and denied that she had lost her role.
"For the record, @TaraReid is awesome and was great to work with in #SHARKNADO. We'd be lucky to have her back for the sequel. That is all!"
"Sharknado 2" is slated to be released in the summer of 2014.
