The Philadelphia Phillies have made another significant move in free agency. The Phillies have signed RHP Taijuan Walker to a four-year, $72 million deal.
The Phillies have addressed a position of need with the acquisition of Walker. Philadelphia’s starting rotation was a solid group in the postseason though it seemed like that needed another quality arm. Taijuan Walker gives them another great hurler to add along side Zach Wheeler and Aaron Nola.
The Mets have lost one of their free agent starters to a division rival. Taijuan Walker is heading to the Phillies on a four-year, $72 million deal, source says.

Last year with the New York Mets, Walker went 12-5, recorded a 3.49 ERA, with 132 strikeouts across 157.1 innings. One year removed from his first All-Star selection, Walker had fine a season that helped the Mets win 101 games. He’ll look to be a serious contributor for a Phillies squad that appears to be loading up for another run at the World Series.
Earlier this week, shortstop Trae Turner signed an 11-year, $300 million deal to go to Philadelphia.
