Sylvester Stallone can't contain his excitement now that Bruce Willis is officially out of "The Expendables 3."
According to some rumors, there was some sort of tiff between Willis and Stalone, who happens to be the screenwriter of the "Expendable" franchise, and Willis ended up being replaced by Harrison Ford.
Willis appeared in the first two "Expendables" films, opposite Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Jet Li and Mickey Rourke. He did not, however, leave the franchise under amicable terms.
"WILLIS OUT... HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS !!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!" Tweeted an excited Sylvester Stallone, after the official casting selection was announced.
But that wasn't all. He went on to fuel more controversy adding, "GREEDY AND LAZY ...... A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE."
Stallone's reps confirmed to HuffPost Entertainment that the tweet was made in reference to Willis, but did not wish to comment further.
Production on "Expendables 3" is set to begin this month, and Lionsgate has slated the Nu Image/Millennium Films action-adventure franchise film to open Aug. 15, 2014.
Stallone returns as Barney Ross, who leads the group of mercenaries as it undertakes seemingly impossible missions. Other newcomers to the cast include Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Nicolas Cage and Milla Jovovich. Mel Gibson is also reportedly in talks to make an appearance.
"The Expendables 2," starring Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Terry Crews and Willis, opened in the U.S. on Aug. 16, 2012, easily topping the box office that weekend with $28.6 million. The Lionsgate and Millennium Films project has earned $300.4 million worldwide. The threequel is expected to be another summer hit.
