Superman will come to visit his little cousin Kara (Melissa Benoist) when the "Supergirl"returns for its second season this fall, reports Den of Geek. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed the news in a statement, saying he and the "Supergirl" production team are thrilled to bring Clark Kent to the show.

"Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of 'Supergirl,'" said Kreisberg in a statement. "Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!"

Unfortunately, it appears as if movie Superman played by Henry Cavill will stay on the big screen as casting is currently underway for the role on "Supergirl." Perhaps the series can bring longtime Superman actor Tom Welling in to play the Man of Steel, seeing how he already owned the role as a teenage Clark Kent.

Superman making an appearance is going to be a real treat for fans as the series has teased his character all throughout the first season. Kara can be seen frequently texting Clark as he offered her advice on her heroic career. The show even paid a visit to his Fortress of Solitude in an episode, which also showed off a Legion of Super-Heroes flight ring.

Although "Supergirl" takes place in an alternate DC universe, the powerhouse hero will be visited by those of the other CW, DC series. The network is planning a midseason four-part crossover including "The Flash," "Arrow," "Supergirl" and "Legends of Tomorrow."

Meanwhile, series star Benoist discussed the forthcoming second season on The CW upfront red carpet. The actress shot down any rumors that her character and "The Flash's" Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will explore a relationship.

"I don’t know that they'd ever get together; I think they’re too similar," said Benoist. "I think they’d like pig out on.. I think they’re pals, pigging out on ice cream."

She also revealed that she does not know what the future holds for her characters relationship with James Olsen, played by Mehcad Brooks. And as for the plot, she revealed viewers will learn what character was in the pod seen in the finale, "Better Angels."

"Supergirl" Season 2 will premiere this fall, more than likely in early October.
