Oh em gee, oh em gee! "Super Smash Bros. 4" has unveiled not one, but three additions to the character roster! An exciting Monday morning announcement confirms Captain Falcon return to "Super Smash Bros." as well as two brand new characters from "Fire Emblem Awakening"-- Robin and Lucina. Along with Marth and Ike, Robin and Lucina makes the "Fire Emblem" character count to four. Robin will also be playable in both male and female versions.
Obviously, Captain Falcon of "F-Zero" isn't new to the "Super Smash Bros." franchise, but Smash fans are no less delighted to learn that one of their favorites will be available for Wii U and 3DS. Let's not forget that the dangerous Falcon Punch combos are one of the most powerful attacks in the game.
A new "Super Smash Bros. 4" trailer featuring the latest characters has also released on Monday. In the latest trailer, Lucina, Captain Falcon, and Robin, are also joined by an appearance of Chrom. However, Nintendo has clarified that Chrom will not be a playable character in the latest "Super Smash Bros." That said, Chrom could still be in Smash to some capacity, most likely as an assist trophy.
The addition of Captain Falcon, Lucina, and Robin, bring the total "Super Smash Bros." character number to 36, which is already more than Brawl. According to reports, the character list will not end at 36. Will Ness, Wario, and Jigglypuff return to Super Smash Bros. as well? Stay tuned in the months ahead!
The "Super Smash Bros. 4" release date for Nintendo 3DS is October 3 while the Wii U version will follow this holiday season.
