Nintendo is skipping E3 again this year but plans to follow a non-traditional press briefing with lots of “Super Smash Bros.” exposure.
Nintendo has revealed they will be doing their own thing at E3 this year. The company will specifically be showing off a lot of the highly-anticipated title “Super Smash Bros.” for Wii U and 3DS.
Nintendo is planning to invite 16 "highly skilled Super Smash Bros. players" to a “Super Smash Bros.” for Wii U tournament, the “Super Smash Bros.” Invitational, which will be held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live during E3 2014.
But that’s not all, the company is also continuing last year's partnership with Best Buy to allow people to play “Super Smash Bros.” for Wii U at participating Best Buy locations in an event called “Super Smash Bros.” Smash Fest.
Meanwhile a recently leaked screenshot claimed to show a detailed version of the Wii U’s “Super Smash Bros.” character roster.
The list included Greninja, Charizard, Yoshi, Sheik, Zero Suit Samus, Diddy Kong, Little Mac, Lucario, King Dedede, Zelda, Rosalina and Luma, Marth, Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox,Pikachu, Bowser, Pit, Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Pikmin & Olimar, Luigi, Peach,Toon Link and Sonic.
But also added Ganondorf, MetaKnight, Jigglypuff, Ice Climber, Mr. Game & Watch, Captain Falcon, Ness, Falco plus Chrom, from Fire Emblem Awakening.
The screenshot is mostly a fake but it can be an indicator of characters we will see for the upcoming title.
The exact release dates have yet to be revealed but we can expect the 3DS version of “Super Smash Bros.” this summer while the Wii U version will follow in the winter of 2014.
