Masahiro Sakurai has revealed even more details regarding the highly anticipated Wii U and 3DS title "Super Smash Bros." The Japanese video game director and designer took to his Miiverse page, which he often does, to reveal that a new stage inspired by "Star Fox: Assault" would be added to already plentiful battle arena list.
In Sakurai's Pic of the Day post he writes, "Pic of the day. Here's the Great Fox from Star Fox: Assault. I wonder what missions it will conduct. It'll probably have fighters running around on top of it without the pilot's consent." With an accompanied picture of the new stage. Check out the post below:
Keeping with the trend the game adds another stage from the "Star Fox" franchise. The original "Super Smash Bros." title had a Sector Z stage while "Super Smash Bros. Melee" featured a Lylat System arena and "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" included the Lylat stage but added a Lylat Cruise battle arena.
Meanwhile it has been revealed that each console version of the game will have their own exclusive stages. The 3DS version will feature more stages from handheld titles like "Super Mario 3D Land" and "Nintendogs." While the Wii U version will have console only title inspired stages like "Metroid's" Pyrosphere stage and "The Legend of Zelda's" Skyloft arena. However, there are stages like Battlefield that are pretty similar but will be different in aesthetics.
Both titles are set to launch later this year with the 3DS version coming Oct. 3 and the Wii U version following sometime Holiday 2014.
