During the final "Super Smash Bros." Nintendo Direct broadcast yesterday a plethora of new content was revealed including three new playable characters and a handful of amiibo figures.
First up is Bayonetta who Nintendo revealed was the overall number one choice in the "Smash Bros." character poll conducted earlier this year. Bayonetta will have two looks, the first is her longer-haired look from the original game and the second is her short hair from "Bayonetta 2." Bayonetta comes with the Umbra Clock Tower stage and will arrive February 2016 for $5.99 individually on 3DS or Wii U, or for $6.99 as a bundle for both systems.
We also learned that Corrin from "Fire Emblem Fates" will also be added to the roster. Like Robin and the Wii Fit Trainer, Corrin will come with both a male and female version. The character will not come with a custom stage but players who purchase Corrin will get other goodies. Corrin will launch February 2016 and will be available for $4.99 individually on Wii U or 3DS, or for $5.99 as a bundle.
Meanwhile, the next wave of amiibo characters were revealed. We learned Roy, Ryu and ROB will arrive in the U.S. March 18, 2016, but no other details were revealed. Furthermore, Nintendo announced they are working on amiibo figures for Bayonetta, Corrin and "Final Fantasy's" Cloud. We'll likely learn more details about the figures in the new year.
At the end of the direct broadcast Sakurai revealed just how much content will be in "Super Smash Bros." for Wii U and 3DS. According to Sakurai, by the time all of that content is released, Smash Bros. will boast the following:
