The Phoenix Suns are hoping to see an end to their three-game losing streak when they host the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.
But with most of its starts out, the chances of that happening do not look promising – made even worse by the fact that the Nets are looking to break out of a three-game slump.
In their last assignment, the Nets dropped a 98-106 decision to the San Antonio Spurs with Keldon Johnson leading the way with 36 points.
Brooklyn was again without Kevin Durant who is out with a sprained MCL in his right knee. Kyrie Irving also missed the game due to a sore right calf.
In the absence of the top two stars, T.J. Warren led the scoring parade with 19 points and five rebounds coming off the bench. Seth Curry chipped in 16 points and seven rebounds in that win.
The Brooklyn Nets hold an offensive rating of 114.5 which is 9th in the league. Defensively, they carry a defensive rating of 111.2, 7th in the league.
On the other side, the Suns are hoping to get back on the winning track with a win at home. They lost to the Memphis Grizzlies last time out, 136-106.
Devin Booker and Chris Paul did not see action, leaving the fate of the Phoenix in the hands of Mikal Bridges and Deandre Ayton.
Bridges finished with 21 points, seven assists and four rebounds while Ayton added 18 points and five rebounds.
The Suns have an offensive rating of 113.8, 13th in the league. On the defensive side, Phoenix owns a 113.1 rating which is 14th in the league.
The Nets are -1 spread favorites to prevail over the Suns who are at +1. The Moneyline is -119 for Brooklyn and -105 for Phoenix.
The Suns' brace for the Nets on Thursday at the Talking Stick Resort Arena with game time set at 10:00 p.m. E.T. The game will be televised via TNT with live streaming available via Sling TV.
