The Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ are undoubtedly the car of the moment and driving enthusiasts can't get enough of it. Only about 500 units or so of Subaru BRZ will be available every month of the American market. United States isn't expected to receive any more than 6,000 BRZ's a year.

If you thought that was figure was tiny, then the units reserved for Australia are utterly nano. According to Autoblog, only 201 BRZ sports cars will be delivered in Australia for 2012. So, when Subaru Australia kicked off the BRZ release at noon yesterday, Subaru fans were already standing by as if they were dealing with a lightning deal on Amazon.com -- the first order was completed in 20 minutes and all 201 examples were sold in less than three hours.

Subaru BRZ pricing starts at $37,150 Australian, which is $38,045 in U.S. dollars. The online order also required a three-to-five thousand Australian dollar deposit. While the deposit is quite a significant financial commitment, the purchaser gets to gloat about being one of the first 201 Australians to own a BRZ.

Subaru Australia is still taking orders but the second Australian BRZ delivery will not begin until early 2013.
