A Spring snowstorm brought over two feet of snow and even hurricane-force winds in some spots as it currently makes its way eastward through the Great Basin. Schools across the Dakotas and Wyoming have cancelled their classes in the wake of a ridiculous sight for early April.

While the Rocky Mountains usually remain snowcapped in most places, that white usually always sticks to the higher elevations of the Continental Divide. As the Spring snowstorm moves eastward, it leaves behind more than 15 inches of snow in some places like Laramie, Wyo. Wind gusts of over 70 mph were felt throughout parts of Wyoming, damaging a community college in Rock Springs, Wyo.

Interstate 80 was the sight of extremely treacherous travel conditions nearly everywhere from the Great Salt Lake to the Great Lakes, as thunderstorms and heavy rains were felt in parts of Illinois, as the Spring snowstorm's moisture moved into warmer quarters.

However, numb to the weather perils in the rest of the country, many people were out and about in New York City Tuesday, lounging in Central Park, or out for a jog across the Brooklyn Bridge as high temperatures topped 80 degrees. As the low pressure storm moves eastward into high pressure center over the northeast, it is only speculation as to whether commuters in the Poconos and New Jersey will have the same trouble their western counterparts did throughout the Great Plains on I-80.
