Early Halloween costume shoppers are taking their mixed reactions online as more and more consumers encounter an unexpected ensemble inspired by the viral "Hawk Tuah" girl.

If 2024's "brat summer" were to crown a queen, a case could easily be made for the inescapable "Hawk Tuah" girl, Hailey Welch, who shot to viral stardom after a street interview where she was asked, "What's one move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time?"

Her enthusiastic answer, "You gotta give 'em that 'hawk tuah,' spit on that thang!" rang out across the internet, and has now made its way into Spirit Halloween stores.

The comments beneath an image posted to Reddit of a Spirit Halloween end cap filled with seasonal Hawk Tuah merchandise showcases public sentiment about the trend.

One Redditor's appeal reads, "This is edited right. This is a joke, right? PLEASE TELL ME THESE AREN'T REAL PRODUCTS BEING SOLD AND PRODUCED."

But they are real, and available at a Spirit Halloween store near you, or on their website.

"You'll look ready to spit on that thang this Halloween when you rock this officially licensed Hawk Tuah Jumpsuit Costume," reads the description of a bubblegum pink mechanic's coverall for adults interested in dressing up as an employee of "Hawk Tuah Express Lubrication Experts," which is displayed on the uniform's patch.

"We are in some kind of dystopian Black Mirror episode," another comment reads.

Costumes and accessories are available and include hats, flags, door hangers, buttons, beer coozies, bandanas, decals, in addition to apparel.

"Straight people are not OK. 😔" a Redditor adds.

The merchandising is cohesive, with 'Hawk Tuah' in a pink and yellow, Wild West-inspired font. The costume sizes are displayed in the bottom left corner, easily visible on top of an illustrated spit-wad.

Another reader asked, "In the words of the great Steve Buscemi "Do you think god stays up in Heaven because he too lives in fear of what he's created here on earth". Seriously WTF!!"

The full jumpsuit costume will set customers back $49.99 before accessories, prompting another Redditor to ask, "Will people actually spend their hard earned money on this? Wow..."

Welch has not let her "15 minutes" of fame go to waste. After she was featured in the Tim & Dee TV interview, she quickly obtained representation, releasing a product line and podcast amidst the flurry of media attention.
