On Wednesday, peace will begin in South Park and radiate outward throughout the world. There's a "ginger cow" involved. In other words, Episode 6 of Season 17 of "South Park" looks promisingly outrageous. South Park Studios has issued a press release describing new episode "Ginger Cow" like this: "Cartman's latest prank has brought about the necessary spiritual conditions for world peace. Religious leaders descend upon South Park to witness a Biblical prophecy that has been fulfilled. Cartman and Kyle are the only two at odds as the world embarks upon a thousand years of peace and harmony." Scroll down to the bottom of the page to watch a video clip of the new episode.

The pioneering cartoon and Comedy Central cash cow is back in action after a hiccup a few weeks ago, when the studio suffered a blackout which set the creators back several hours on the production of "Goth Kids", Episode 4 of the seventeenth season. That meant they missed their deadline - Matt Stone and Trey Parker are notorious for writing and designing each episode in the week before it's set to air, a process which for most animated shows takes months. For the first time in 17 seasons, when Comedy Central came calling for the creators to hand in their final product, they had to beg them off. The network aired an old episode instead.

In last week's episode, "Taming Strange", Kyle's little brother Ike hit puberty - at the ripe age of five - and the two of them started to grow apart. There were plenty of jokes made at the expense of Canada, as might be expected of any episode centering on Ike, who is adopted from a Canadian family. IGN gave it a mixed review, saying it was "pretty scattered", with too many parodies crammed into the plot to make it work. "While the two main parodies (Miley Cyrus and Obamacare) probably could have worked in tandem, neither arc was strong enough here to warrant a connection at the end (unlike, say, the World War Z/Trayvon Martin mashup in "World War Zimmerman")," the site wrote. "In the end, these jokes were simply too one-note to satisfy a full 22 minutes. Honestly, they probably could have run about the same length as an SNL sketch and gotten the same effect." Check out a preview clip of the new episode "Ginger Cow" below, in which Kyle seems to be "pretty stoked" that Cartman has "brought peace to the Middle East". And check out the full episode when it airs on November 6 at 10pm EST/ 9pm Central on Wednesday night on Comedy Central.
