Episode 2 of Season 17 of "South Park" airs tonight on Comedy Central, when viewers who might remember earlier seasons' spoofs of World of Warcraft, Guitar Hero and the Nintendo Wii will be in for another taste of videogame-themed humor. Creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker will turn their sights this time to Minecraft, as the boys of South Park use the game as a distraction to keep their parents from hurting one another. In tonight's episode, according to a press release from Comedy Central, "The kids are trying to keep their parents from watching graphic sex and violence on television. Now Randy and Sharon's nightly TV routine is interrupted and getting their "Informative Murder Porn" back is a matter of life and death." Stone and Parker like to use episodes like these to turn the kid-adult paradigm on its head, so that the kids end up sounding like the reasonable parties, with the adults usually acting out violently because of the influence of videogames. "Informative Murder Porn" ought to be a typically irreverent take on the matter. The creators also have their own videogame in the works - the upcoming role-playing game which is based on their show, entitled "South Park: The Stick of Truth". That launches on December 10 for platforms Window PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Last week's episode, "Let Go, Let Gov", was a satire of the National Security Agency's spying programs. It also featured one of Cartman's classic reversals of position, as he invented a device that broadcasts his every thought to an online safe haven to combat the government's surveillance of his electronic communications before eventually joining the NSA. Somehow, Alec Baldwin got mixed up in all of the jokes, too, with his own "Baldwin's Thoughts" device presenting an opportunity for the creators to take all the shots they could desire at him. And Butters was his usual sycophantic self in his religious love for the government.

After its year-long hiatus, Comedy Central UK announced a few days ago that "South Park" will return to that channel for its 17th season starting tonight as well. It will be starting off a week behind, though: it'll air last week's episode, "Let Go, Let Gov", instead of "Informative Murder Porn", as the U.S.-based branch of that network will. The latter airs on Wednesday night in the U.S. on Comedy Central at 10pm EST.
