Social media users are rallying behind rapper Pitbull, urging Florida's governor to appoint him to Marco Rubio's soon-to-be-vacant Senate seat.

Following Donald Trump's election victory and his selection of Marco Rubio for Secretary of State, his Senate seat will be temporarily filled by an appointee selected by Florida Governor DeSantis.

As Florida residents speculate on potential candidates, fans have suggested Pitbull, aka Mr. Worldwide, to represent them in Washington, Whiskey Riff reported.

With names like Florida's Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nunez and Attorney General Ashley Moody being up for consideration, Pitbull has unexpectedly become a popular choice on social media, sparking a viral campaign advocating for him.

"Wouldn't it be ironic if Sen. Rubio became SecState and was replaced by someone called Mr. Worldwide," one user commented on X.

"@GovRonDeSantis If you aren't going to appoint yourself, have you considered @pitbull for the open senate seat," another added.

While the campaign gains traction online, it's unlikely that DeSantis will consider Pitbull. However, the buzz continues to highlight the influence of public opinion in Florida politics.
