The new Fox show "Sleepy Hollow" returns on Monday for Episode 3, "For the Triumph of Evil", at 9pm EST. Viewers will be introduced to Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood), Lt. Abbie Mills' sister, as she emerges from the insane asylum in which she's been locked up. The show, which garners its inspiration from two stories from the 18th-century American author Washington Irving, sees Ichabod Crane wake after a two-hundred year sleep following a battle in the American Revolution. In advance of the episode's airing, Fox released new clips from it. Scroll down to watch one of them or click here to see them all.

In the new episode, another soldier in the army of evil which viewers of previous episodes will already be acquainted with - a soldier dubbed "The Sandman" - seeps into the dreams of the residents of Sleepy Hollow, according to the episode synopsis released by Fox. "By infiltrating their minds at night, he tortures them to the brink - all because they, at one time, turned a blind eye to justice," the press release says. "When the Sandman seemingly sets his sights on Abbie, she is forced to begin to face her past - and her institutionalized sister, Jenny. With Ichabod by her side, and her life at stake, the duo must try to defeat the Sandman and continue their fight against evil".

In the first clip, seen below, Abbie reveals that her sister Jenny has carried out a few thefts from a sporting goods store in order to prepare for the "End of Days". That landed her in a mental institution. But it turns out, as the episode continues, that Jenny might not have been so crazy after all. In the second clip, Ichabod Crane, who has had some experience with being falsely considered crazy himself, meets Jenny for the first time, in an encounter which sees Jenny sizing up her "tall, dark and British" visitor.

If you've missed the first two episodes, here's a quick recap: Ichabod Crane has been trying to get used to the fact that after falling asleep in the eponymous hollow during the Revolutionary War, he's now woken up again in the 21st century, and the Redcoat he thought he'd killed in battle is wreaking havoc on his old foes. It's been drawing big crowds of viewers: some 10 million tuned in to the debut episode. Tune in tonight at 9 pm to check the newest episode out, and if you can't tune in live, click here for the online live stream!
