Shawn Mendes Isn’t The Reason Behind Camila Cabello And Matthew Hussey's Breakup

Anyone who has watched Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s latest collaboration “Senorita” would notice right away the chemistry between the two music artists. Seeing the steamy music video, fans can’t help but speculate if the two are dating and if the “If I Can’t Have You” singer might have something to do with Cabello’s breakup from Matthew Hussey.

Mendes and Cabello, who have known each other since 2014, have always maintained that they’re just very close friends. However, fans can’t help but think otherwise, especially with the recent release of their very sexy music video and a couple of instances where they were spotted by fans going out together.

For instance, a fan spotted the two at 5 a.m. on Sunday. The fan was even able to take a brief video clip of a man who looks like Mendes who had his arm around someone (whose face can’t be seen) next to him. “Did I just bump into @Camila_Cabello @ShawnMendes at 5am in LA,” the fan captioned the tweet.

Meanwhile, JustJaredJr posted more than 60 photos of Cabello and Mendes showing serious PDA. “Shawn and Camila coordinated in black athleisure-wear as they were spotted laughing together and sharing some romantic embraces,” the site wrote. “They shared a meal at Paramount Coffee Project that afternoon.”

The photos were taken on July 7, which means that they were taken on the same day that the fan took the video clip. The site reported that the photos of Mendes and Cabello were taken after the two had a brunch date.

However, Mendes very recently confirmed that he and Cabello are just friends and that they are not dating. “Are you dating Camila?” a female fan asked the Canadian singer during a Q&A session.

And Mendes quickly answered her question without hesitation, although not verbally. The singer shook his head indicating that there’s nothing romantic going on between him and the former Fifth Avenue member.

Cabello and Mendes’ dating rumors started right after she broke up with Matthew Hussey, a British dating coach. Cabello and Hussey’s relationship lasted for more than a year as they first dated in February 2018. No reason was given for the breakup, which got fans into thinking that Mendes might be the reason.
