If you missed Syfy's smash hit of the summer, "Sharknado," on TV earlier this month then don't worry because the Syfy original will be hitting the big screen for one night only.
Syfy announced today that "Sharknado will be in theaters on Friday, August 2 starting at 12:05 a.m. local time in 200 select movie theaters.

When the show aired on television July 11, "Sharknado" managed to pull in an impressive 5,000 tweets per minute during the shows entire broadcast.
The tickets can be purchased through Fathom Event's website. The site also claims that with the purchase of the ticket viewers will get to see never before seen footage saying:
In addition to the big screen presentation of this "made-for-TV guilty pleasure," cinema audiences will be treated to never-before-seen footage including a behind-the-scenes featurette and a gag reel!

If you don't really know what "Sharknado" is or you've heard of it but are unaware of the details Fathom Event's also has a synopsis of the movie:
"Sharknado" is the story of beachside bar regulars including owner Fin (Ian Ziering, "Beverly Hills 90210"), bartender Nova (Cassie Scerbo, "Make It Or Break It") and local drunk George (John Heard, "Home Alone") as they team up with Fin's ex-wife April (Tara Reid, "Scrubs") to investigate the ecological nightmare that has sharks swimming through the streets of Los Angeles and falling from the skies.
"Sharknado 2" will hit theaters July 2014 and be set in New York City. Syfy is currently holding a contest to search for the best fan-made title.
