Among the millions of fans Shakira has all over the world (including us, of course), she has pretty important people liking her photos on Facebook, including its founder Mark Zuckerberg. Turns out the two became even better friends on Facebook when Zuckerberg had a Q&A last Monday on his official page, and the Colombian singer posed the question, “Hi Mark! How do you think technology can best be used as an education tool for those living in disadvantaged communities? Shak,” through her official Facebook page.

Shakira’s question received over 9,000 likes and Zuckerberg’s answer almost 5,000. The page founder began his response by thanking “The Voice” coach for her question, and then proceeded to state his thoughts on education and ideas to connect the world. “I’m very excited about personalized learning — giving everyone the ability to use technology to learn what they’re most interested in and at their own pace,” he explained. “There are some great new schools experimenting with different personalized learning models and getting great results. I’m supporting some of those schools through my personal philanthropy, and Facebook is also helping to build open source software to power some of these tools,” Zuckerberg concluded.

The Facebook founder also answered questions from Sir Richard Branson who asked what he thought the benefits of connecting the two thirds of the world would be. Also, let’s not forget that up until a few weeks ago, Shakira held the Facebook throne with 107,083,641 “likes” but Real Madrid striker, Christiano Ronaldo, surpassed (and dethroned) Shak when he got to 107,134,368. Perhaps Zuckerberg can play favorites and fix that at some point.
