Many of Shakira's fans in Colombia are reportedly not happy after the Colombian singer was caught speaking with a Castilian accent as used in Spain.

In a video clip posted by DCostumbre Music, the singer is seen getting ready to film a scene from the upcoming video for "La Bicleta" with colleague Carlos Vives when all of a sudden she surprises fans with her new accent asking them to collaborate. "You need to let us film the video, if not we're going to leave and we won't be able to film. Can you help please?" she told bystanders in Barranquilla, Colombia, where the scene was being recorded.

"What a Spanish accent," expressed a woman in the video that can be seen below. Fans on social media were also quick to criticize the 39-year-old singer.

It is not really that surprising that Shak would pick up a Castilian Spanish accent as she has been living in Spain for the past five years. The "Hips Don't Lie" songstress has made Barcelona her new home since embarking on a relationship and forming a family with soccer star Gerard Pique. Check it out and share your thoughts.

At the end of May, Carlos Vives launched his new single titled "La Bicicleta" featuring his colega and compatriota, Shakira!

The news of this highly awaited collaboration broke in April, when it was revealed that both artists would film a music video in Barranquilla. Following the news, the two Colombian artists were spotted in their beloved country, where they were indeed having a great time and filming the forthcoming clip.

"I've always dreamt of writing, producing and recording a song with Shakira so that together we can show our Colombia to the world," Vives told Billboard. "She has taken our country's music to unimaginable heights, and finally being able to collaborate with her is a realization of this dream." This is the first time Shakira collaborates with a fellow Colombian.

"La Bicicleta," which was written by Vives and Shak, is part of Vives' upcoming fall album "Vives."
