A registered sex offender reportedly severed his GPS monitor and walked into a high school campus in Shingle Springs to ogle teenage students while they were having lunch on Wednesday, June 30, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office said.
The convicted predator, Nolan Simmons, 41, has been accused of walking into the Ponderosa High School campus without permission on Wednesday, June 30, and sat down near multiple students while they were eating lunch, ABC10 reported.
A warrant had been issued for Simmons’ arrest the previous day for allegedly cutting off his GPS monitor, authorities said.
A group of students notified school staff about Simmons' unwelcome presence and a school resource officer was dispatched to the area. Law enforcement later found Simmons loitering near Meder Road, according to FOX40.
There were reportedly 400 students on campus at the time of the incident, officials said. Simmons was arrested and booked into the El Dorado County Jail on charges of being a registered sex offender on school grounds without permission and parole hold.
