It didn’t take that long for an invitation for CM Punk for in-ring competition.

After the charismatic former WWE champion made his surprise appearance at WWE Backstage, the former WWE champion is starting to attract potential match-ups in the ring. Now that Punk is indeed back in the WWE programming, Seth Rollins wasted no time issuing a challenge to the newest member of WWE Backstage.

The former Universal Champion took to Twitter his desire of wrestling the former UFC fighter. This could also mean an opportunity to be at the spotlight again after his loss to Bray Watt in a Fall Counts Anywhere match at Crown Jewel.

The tweet, though, got a response but it’s not from Punk, but the official account of WWE on FOX, asking him to appear on the show to issue the challenge to Punk face to face.

In which, Rollins agreed.

Drawing mixed emotions, the fans responded to his tweet on what they think about this challenge.

Punk’s inclusion to the WWE Backstage roster is making rounds on social media, with the confirmation posted by FOX themselves.

Reports previously circulated that he was not part of the line-up to do the show as there was no deal given by FOX to the 41-year old superstar per PWInsider reports after admitting that he auditioned to be part of the show. In its debut episode, eWrestling reported that the show didn’t do good in terms of audience share.

The pilot episode only had under 50,000 viewers and also failed to make it to the top 150 cable shows on that night.

With CM Punk’s arrival, it is going to be determined if the WWE pressed the right button in bringing him back to the company’s programming – together with his believers who chanted non-stop in the venues, especially during their shows in Chicago.
