Selena Gomez Ends Decade-Old Kids’ Choice Awards Tie With Will Smith

For a decade, Selena Gomez and Will Smith were neck and neck in the race of winning the most number of KCA blimps. But that just changed when Gomez won another blimp in the recently concluded 2019 Kids' Choice Awards.

Selena Gomez just won another blimp after bagging the Favorite Female Voice from an Animated Movie Award for her role as Mavis in “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.” With the addition, the singer now has a total of 11 blimps and is now the record holder for the artist with the most KCA trophies.

Since 2009, Gomez and Smith were tied at 10 blimps each. With Gomez’s recent addition, Smith’s record of 10 blimps puts him at second place. Adam Sandler is at third with 9 blimps.

Other Nickelodeon’s 2019 Kids Choice Awards winners are “Avengers: Infinity War” for Favorite Movie, while Noah Centineo won Favorite Movie Actor for his role as Peter Kavinsky in “To All the Boys I've Loved Before.” Actress Joey King won Favorite Movie Actress for playing as Elle Evans in “The Kissing Booth.”

Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man/Tony Stark role in “Avengers: Infinity Wars” earned him the Favorite Superhero trophy. Chris Pratt’s role as Owen Grady in “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” earned him the Favorite Butt-Kicker trophy, while “Incredibles 2” won the Favorite Animated Movie trophy. Gomez’s co-star in “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation,” Adam Sandler, won Favorite Male Voice from an Animated Movie for his role as Count Dracula.

For television, “Fuller House” is named as Favorite Funny TV Show, while “Riverdale” is Favorite TV Drama. Meanwhile, Favorite Female TV Star went to Zendaya for her portrayal of K.C. Cooper in “K.C. Undercover As K.C. Cooper.” Favorite Male TV Star, on the other hand, went to Jace Norman for his role as Henry Hart/Kid Danger in “Henry Danger.”

Favorite Cartoon went to “SpongeBob SquarePants”; “America's Got Talent” was named Favorite Reality Show, while Ellen DeGeneres bagged the Favorite TV Host trophy for “Ellen's Game Of Games.” KCA also named “American’s Got Talent” judges Mel B, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel as Favorite TV Judges.

In Music, Maroon 5 was named Favorite Music Group, while Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next” won the Favorite Song trophy. Shawn Mendes won Favorite Male Artist, while Ariana Grande won Favorite Female Artist.

Favorite Breakout Artist was awarded to Billie Eilish, and the Favorite Collaboration trophy went to “No Brainer” by DJ Khaled feat. Justin Bieber, Quavo and Chance the Rapper. JoJo Siwa was named Favorite Social Music Star, while Taylor Swift was named Favorite Global Music Star.

The 2019 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards was held at Los Angeles’ Galen Center on March 23. The event was hosted by DJ Khaled.
