A fugitive considered "armed and dangerous" was captured Friday night after he walked away from a prison work camp in Idaho the day before.
Kevin Kuintzle, 33, was arrested in Pocatello by police and Idaho State Police troopers after fleeing a work camp in St. Anthony Thursday evening, the Idaho Department of Correction said.
After escaping the camp, Kuintzle allegedly stole a firearm and tried to carjack a vehicle in Idaho Falls, the Idaho State Journal reported.
He was spotted by police outside a convenience store and took off on foot when he was approached by officers, the newspaper reported.
Kuintzle was captured after a short foot pursuit.
The corrections department said Kuintzle was facing a first-degree murder charge in Jerome County.
His criminal record includes convictions for grand theft and operating a vehicle without the owner's consent.
