Mexican singers Sasha Sokol, Benny Ibarra and Erik Rubin met international fame at a very young age. They were all part of pop group Timbiriche, a Latin American sensation at the beginning of the 1980's. Also part of that group were Thalía, Paulina Rubio, Mariana Garza, Alix Bauer and Diego Schoening, who've also had renown musical careers after their stint with Timbiriche. Decades later Sasha, Benny and Erik decided to join forces again, in a concert that later became an album, that is now an international tour.
Released on November 6, 2012 by Sony Music Latin, "Primera Fila," is the album of the live recording that was taken from a concert performed by the three former Timbiriche starts on June 2012, and it includes two new songs "Cada Beso," which became their first single, and "Sólo Tú." It also includes three hits from each one, and two cover versions of Presuntos Implicados and Fito Paez.
All together, Sasha, Benny and Erik have over 25 productions combined, several hits, Gold and Platinum records, and several national and international awards. Now the three combine their talents; Sasha being the feminine touch, with great style and magnificent voice; Benny with composing and producing skills besides being extremely creative; and Erik, a unique talent with a lot of stage presence. This combination was highly successful in Mexico and Central America, where "Primera Fila" received a triple platinum record for over 180,000 copies sold, and sold out all its Mexican live performances.
This is why the trio is heading north and embarking on a tour in the United States. The first stop will be on Oct. 18, at the State Farm Arena in McAllen, Texas. The next day, on the 19, they will be performing at the Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, and on Oct. 20, to finish a very packed weekend for them, they will he headed to the Bayou Music Center in Houston.
After a few days to rest, Sasha, Benny and Erik will be back on the stage Oct. 24 at the Comerica Theater in Phoenix, Arizona, touching back in Texas on the next day, Oct. 25 to perform at the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, and a day later, on the 26th, they will be at Club Rio in San Antonio. Their last show will be on Nov. 1, at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California.
