A California man was stabbed while trying to sell marijuana to an uninterested person outside of a local jail.

Around 7 p.m. Thursday, police said the man, 32, walked up to another man, 24, outside of the San Diego Central Jail and asked if he would like to buy some weed. The 24-year-old reportedly expressed that he did not want any before a fight broke out, as reported by KUSI-TV.

During the brawl, police said the 24-year-old took out a knife and allegedly stabbed the victim under the armpit before running away.

The man was transported to the hospital, and his condition is said to be not life threatening. Police were able to locate the suspect and the knife a couple blocks away from the scene, and he was taken into custody.
