The San Antonio Spurs travel to Denver to take on the Nuggets Tuesday night in the Pepsi Center for the last of the Spurs' road trip. The Nuggets, who have gotten off to a slow start this year, will face no easy opponent in their Western Conference rivals, as the Spurs appear to be much the same team that came so close to defeating the Miami Heat in the Finals last year. But despite their 0-2 record, the Nuggets don't seem to be all that worried. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit the link to watch a live stream of the action when it tips off at 9pm EST.

"Practice was good, it was really good," Nuggets coach Brian Shaw told the Denver Post on Monday. "The guys were spirited today, came out with good effort. Wilson (Chandler) and (Danilo Gallinari) and Anthony (Randolph) were out, but everybody else was involved with practice and they really competed with each other. That's the kind of spirit you want to see." And they'll have to show it in order to compete with the Spurs, who sat their key trio of players -- Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker -- in preseason action against the Nuggets. "They're a team that any mistake that you make, they will make you pay for it," Shaw said. "In terms of execution, they can play any style, they can get up and down they can in the half court. They're good defensively. It's going to be a good test for us.

After an offseason makeover which saw coach George Karl and star Andre Iguodala depart, the Nuggets still expect to be a major playoff contender in the West this year. Their early troubles have been due in no small part to the absence of injured small forwards Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler, who would usually put up about 30 points per game combined. And the whole pace of Denver's game as changed over the offseason - whereas before, Karl had his squad whisking the ball up and down the court as quickly as possible, with overhand outlet passes a commonplace, Shaw's Nuggets are less eager to push it, and part of the team's challenges will certainly have to do with how to win with a half-court offense. Tuesday night's showdown against the Spurs will be an important early test for them. Don't have a TV to watch it on?
