The Samsung Galaxy S20 lineup of phones will be launched later today February 11. However, leaks came out just a day before its launch showing the high-end specs of the new phones’ camera package.
The latest Samsung Galaxy S20 leaks came from Evan Blass, a noted leaker, according to Tech Radar. Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra and the leaks gave hints on the major differences between these variants in terms of camera setup.
Based on the leaks, the basic Galaxy S20 will have a triple-lens rear camera setup. The phone will sport a 12MP wide-angle lens and another 12MP ultra-wide lens. The third lens will be a 64MP telephoto.
Meanwhile, the leaks also suggest that the higher-end Galaxy S20 Plus will have an almost similar setup to the basic model. However, there will be one additional lens that is speculated to be a ToF one for depth sensing. It will also have a 10MP front-facing punch-hole selfie camera.
But it’s the most expensive variant, the Galaxy S20 Ultra, that boasts of ridiculously high-end camera specs. For instance, its 40MP selfie camera alone will surely put other smartphones to shame.
Just like the other phones in the line, S20 Ultra will also have the standard 12MP ultra-wide lens in its rear camera assembly. But it’s the other lenses that are not so standard. Its telephoto lens is said to be 48MP and uses quad-pixel technology for extra-crisp shots.
The back camera setup of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra will also feature the insanely high-end 108MP wide-angle camera. There will also be a ToF sensor which has lately become some sort of standard among flagship models for high-end brands.
Samsung phone has always been known for its impressive camera package and performance. But it appears that, with the specs of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, the brand wants to leave its competitors in the dust in the camera department.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus and Ultra will have 5G connectivity. However, the standard Galaxy S20 won’t have this 5G connectivity feature, a move to keep its price more affordable.
