Is Sammy Sosa guest starring on "True Blood"? The former Chicago Cubs star is making headlines again after a picture that shows the baseball player looking quite pale went viral. According to Fox News, the Sammy Sosa vampire photo in question was taken when he appeared on Panama television earlier this week. The image shows him standing next to TV personality Nairobi Dacosta.
The Inquisitr joked that Sosa has everything it takes to be a vampire after taking a closer look to the now-famous picture, posted on Twitter by Yahoo's Jeff Passan. "Widow's peak? Check. Pale face? Check. Tailored suit? Blood red tie? Unsuspecting victim? Check, check check," said the media outlet. Many suspected that Sosa had a skin condition or was trying to look like Michael Jackson. Others wondered if the vampire look was a product of his alleged steroid use during his playing days.
However, the slugger revealed in 2009 that the new look came after he experimented with a facial cream. "It's a cream that I have, that I use to soften [my skin], but has bleached me some," he said. "I'm not a racist, I live my life happily." He added that he uses the cream because his face was heavily burned from playing under the sun during his baseball years.
Nevertheless, few seemed to believe his story because multiple memes of the once grandiose athlete began circulating the web, and even a famous Spanish site, Remolacha.net, began a contest on who could design the best "Sammy Cream," which generated hundreds of submissions.
Although it's been four years since the drastic skin color change, it is unclear if Sammy Sosa is still using this cream, but his skin keeps looking paler than ever, and for some reason, this latest picture of the former Chicago Cubs player has really upped the vampire comparisons.
