The Sacramento Kings are the hottest team in the NBA. Winners of 7 straight games, their latest win over the Memphis Grizzlies has Kings fans thinking playoffs.
The Kings currently have the longest playoff drought in NBA history as they’ve toiled through 16 consecutive NBA seasons without a playoff berth. There are legitimate reasons to be optimistic this could be the season that the drought ends. New head coach Mike Brown has the Kings playing winning basketball.
The Kings have the best offense in NBA history at the moment, through 15 games, posting a 118.6 offensive rating. Their explosive offense has been able to cover a lot of their defensive deficiencies and is propelling them up the Western Conference standings.
De’Aaron Fox is also playing at an all-star level and looks like a lock to make the team, especially if the Kings keep winning games. The Kings haven’t had an all-star since DeMarcus Cousins in 2017. Domantas Sabonis has opened things up for the Kings' offense with his passing as well, and Kevin Huerter has been one of the best three-point shooters in the league.
The Kings are legit this season and the rest of the Western Conference should be concerned with their high-powered offense.
