Halloween might still be a long way down the road, but Mendes was spotted Tuesday walking around New York's Soho neighborhood with a life-sized skull purchased from kinky store Kiki de Montparnasse. The store is known for its bridal and "fantasy" lingerie finds.
The spooky bone looked out of a shopping bag as the 39-year-old actress strolled in the rain in high-heeled boots, scuffed jeans and a leopard-print headband. She appeared in good spirits as she blew a kiss to the photographers.

Mendes was seen without her Canadian 32-year-old flame. The lovebirds met on the set of crime-drama "The Place Beyond the Pines," where they play lovers and parents to a child.
The film, set to open on March 29, includes Bradley Cooper, Rose Byrne and Ray Liotta.
