What does it mean to be a Porsche purist? Distilled to the essence of the Porsche philosophy, a Porsche 911 sports car must, above all, offer a truly unique driving experience. In this context, is there a Porsche 911 more raw than the monsters of Nakai-san's RAUH-Welt Begriff?

Japanese Porsche tuning outfit RAUH-Welt is headquartered at a humble body shop in the small country town of Chiba-Ken in Japan. RAUH-Welt accept clients that own a standard street Porsche 911 and transform their sports cars into remarkable air-cooled monsters complete with a stripped racing interior, a wild wide-body kit and an extreme GT spoiler. The result of Nakai-san's passionate vision are Porsches that look like nothing else on the road. In fact, only one RWB Porsche is made for each customer, with no two RWB Porsches alike.

Over the years, Nakai-san's radical machines have garnered a lot of interest in auto culture sites like Speedhunters as well as among the new stance movement that appreciate jaw-dropping "lowrider" looks rather than out-and-out speed.

The association of RAUH-Welt and stance movement supporting clothing brand Illest has caused a bit of controversy: Is a RWB Porsche really a track machine or is it all about the way it looks?

To settle the matter once and for all, the talented videographers of MaihamMedia shared an edge-of-your-seat video of Nakai-san piloting one of his very own RWB 993 widebodies at the legendary Tsukuba circuit. Chasing down a modern 997 GT3, hear the crackling exhaust note and the violent downshifts as a determined Nakai tries to get past.

While it is difficult to determine exactly which 993 Nakai is driving, the video that looks over the front hood suggests that its color is gunmetal. Nakai-san and his crew took a very special RWB 993 "ROUGH UNITY," also painted in a dark shade of gray, to the 12 hour Idlers endurance race at Honda's Twin Ring Motegi last year.

The RWB993R Rough Unity is more than just a $20,000 body kit. Wheel manufacturer Work Wheels and suspension companies KW and Aragosta offer custom fabricated products made to RWB specification.
