Russian Soldiers Lived In A Pigpen While Fighting In Ukraine [Video]

Ukrainian authorities released a video Friday showing a pigsty where items from the Russian forces were found abandoned, pointing to it being a command post of Moscow's forces while they occupied Liubymivka in Kherson region.

In the video posted by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), the pigpen was packed with items from the Russian occupiers, including clothing, military uniforms, mattresses, cookware and kits for daily survival.

The pen was still with pigs when the video was taken, indicating that the Russian soldiers were living with the animals while in the occupied region.

“They found their own kind,” a local resident, who conducted the tour, said.

Stolen washing machines were also found abandoned inside the animal house.

The SSU called upon Russian soldiers still in Ukrainian to surrender, "while you are still alive."

"Here, you’ll get better treatment than from your commanders,” it added.

In September, recordings of intercepted calls from Russian soldiers discussing their true situation on the frontlines were published in a report by The New York Times. Some narrated how they were not given enough training before joining the war in Ukraine.

In one of the recorded calls, a soldier described how Kremlin has been showing too much-advanced weaponry in the media for the world to see but the reality is the opposite.

“Everything here is ancient. It’s not modern like they show on Zvezda[stateTV],” he said.

Another soldier revealed that some Russian troops have been stealing armor from Ukrainian corpses just to survive.

“Some guys took the armor off of Ukrainians' corpses and took it for themselves.… Their NATO armor is better than ours,” the soldier, identified as Sergey said in a call with his girlfriend.

In a report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an estimated 61,680 Russian military personnel have died in Ukraine since the start of the war on Feb. 24, 2022. Over 2,400 Russian tanks and 5,000 armored vehicles have also been destroyed.
