Not even the queen can use her power to make the royal baby arrive. The monarch is anxiously waiting - like the rest of the world -- for the birth of the little prince or princess.
Visiting England's Lake District on Wednesday, July 17 with daughter Princess Anne, Queen Elizabeth chatted with local schoolchildren at Lake Windermere in Cumbria about the royal baby, which was due July 11.

In the encounter, 10-year-old Fay Batey asked her majesty, "Do you want Kate's baby to be a boy or girl?"
"I don't think I mind," the queen replied, to laughter from the crowd. "I would very much like it to arrive. I'm going on holiday."
She paused before adding, "No sign yet," to the delight of the children.
The queen, 87, is expected to head to her estate at Balmoral next week for her annual summer break.
William and Kate's child will be third-in-line to the British throne regardless of the genre, and the third great-grandchild for the queen and Prince Philip.
There is a lot of anticipation surrounding the birth of William and Kate's baby, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, said Monday that the royals are "hopeful that by the end of the week he or she will be here."
